He holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Hamline University School of Law, an LL.M (in Taxation Law) from William Mitchell College of Law, an LL.B (Hons.) from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law

Mr. Ongeri is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and he is also admitted as Attorney & Counselor at Law in the States of Minnesota and New York in United States of America.
